PRESS RELEASE: Positive Coaching Alliance

SAY SOCCER PARTNERS WITH POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE
May 1, 2018 – SAY National Office

We are excited to announce SAY Soccer’s new partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance. As we continue to grow it is important that our coaches, parents and administrators are provided with the tools and resources to be successful in coaching and caring for our children.

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) develops BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE through resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes. In addition to nearly 1,500 free multimedia tips and tools at www.pcadevzone.org, PCA has partnered with roughly 3,500 schools and youth sports organizations nationwide to deliver live group workshops, online courses and books by PCA Founder Jim Thompson that help those involved in youth and high school sports create a positive, character-building youth sports culture.

“In partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance, SAY Soccer is taking dedicated steps in trying to improve the health, safety and well-being of our youth players and coaches.” – Doug Wood; SAY Executive Director

PCA resources, which have reached more than 8.6 million youth, strive to transform high school and youth sports into a Development Zone culture, where the goal is to develop Better Athletes, Better People and the following become the prevailing models in youth and high school sports:

●      The Double-Goal Coach®, who strives to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports

●      The Second-Goal Parent®, who concentrates on life lessons, while letting coaches and athletes focus on competing

●      The Triple-Impact Competitor®, who strives to impact sport on three levels by improving oneself, teammates and the game as a whole.

PCA gains support from a National Advisory Board, including former US National Soccer team stars, Julie Foudy, Brandi Chastain, Brian McBride and many other top coaches, athletes, organizations, leaders and academics who share PCA’s mission.

“PCA is going to be a great educational source for all of our SAY members. The resources that they have developed with help from top-professional coaches and leaders are currently making a positive impact nationwide. We are excited to be able to partner with PCA knowing that they will make a positive impact on the SAY community nationwide.” – Erika True; SAY Education Manager

You will begin to see Positive Coaching Alliance materials in our newsletters, social media, and coach’s manual. We plan to build upon our relationship further with live interactive workshop in the future.
