Law VII - The Duration of the Match

1. PERIODS OF PLAY
All games will be played in quarters with a kick-off to begin each quarter.
          ·The team kicking off in the 1st quarter will kick-off in the 3rd quarter.
          ·The team kicking off in the 2nd quarter will kick-off in the 4th quarter.
          ·Teams will change ends at the end of each quarter.


2.TIME OF QUARTERS

Passers (U8)

10 minutes

Wings (U10)

12 minutes

Strikers (U12)

15 minutes

Kickers (U14)

15 minutes

Minors (U16)

20 minutes

Seniors (U19)

20 minutes


3. INTERVALS BETWEEN PERIODS
Intervals between the 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th quarters will be one (1) minute. The half-time interval will be five (5) minutes.


4. ALLOWANCE FOR TIME LOST
Allowances shall be made within each period for time lost through injury or other cause, the amount of which shall be at the discretion of the referee. This time may not be added to a different period.


                   

5. PENALTY KICK
Time shall be extended to permit the taking of a penalty kick, which was awarded as time ran out. Time may not be extended for the taking of other free kicks.

6. END OF PLAY
Play ends exactly at the instant that time runs out, regardless of the position or motion of the ball at that time.

7. STOPPED GAME
If a game has been stopped for any reason, and it cannot be restarted:
          ·If less than one-half has been played, it must be rescheduled in its entirely; however,
          ·If at least one-half has been played, it may be considered an official game.
